What happens if I am not happy with my Medicare Advantage Plan?
So, it is the beginning of the year, and you are signed up for your Medicare Advantage plan, but it is just not working for you.
Whether it be that it is not working with your doctors, your prescriptions are not covered as well as you thought they would be by the plan, or for whatever reason.
Many people believe that once you are on a plan, that you have to stay on it for the rest of the year. This is simply not true.
From January 1 thru March 31, you are allowed to change your Medicare Advantage plan one time, and one time only.
It is called the OEP period, which means Open Enrollment Period.
This only applies for Medicare Advantage Plans. There are no questions on why you want to change, however, you need to make sure that you are sure and will be happy with your new plan, because at this point, once you switch plans, generally speaking, this will be your plan until the end of the year.
